Castle Creek Outfitters offers Trophy Spring Black Bear hunts in May and June each year. Our Spring baits are put out in April and Hunters are taken in May and June. Hunters are fed meals from our Deluxe Tent Camps where we will guide you on horseback into the Salmon and Challis National Forest's. During the day you will check baits with your guide. Hunting is done over the baits in the evening when the wind is right. 90% of our spring bear are taken in the afternoon.

We hunt bears and wolves in the Selway and Frank Church Wilderness, Idaho’s Hunting Unit 17. This is a two bear and five wolf area with non-resident tags only $41.75 and $31.75 each. This gives you an incredible opportunity to hunt two of North America’s largest predators at the same time. Our bears average over 50% color phase (blond, brown, black and cinnamon) and hunters have an excellent opportunity to harvest the unique trophy of a lifetime. This is a great hunt for bow hunters and Jr. Hunters. Our bear hunts are offered both spring and fall. We hunt wolves incidentally over bait and use electronic and voice calls. There may also be some opportunities for spot and stalk hunting.

Idaho bear hunting with Table Mountain Outfitters is conducted in the mountainous regions. Spring and Fall Idaho bear hunts offer a unique opportunity at a color phase bear. Approximately, 80% of the bear harvested have been anything but your typical black in color. Enjoy working with an experienced pack of hounds in the mornings and utilize our well-placed baits in the evenings. These methods allow for a varied Idaho bear hunting schedule and many opportunities to harvest. Use your rifle, pistol or bow and tailor your Idaho bear hunt to your liking. Spring hunts provide an opportunity to hunt during a season when Idaho bear hunting options are limited. Spring will usually produce a thicker fuller coat while fall provides an opportunity at a larger bear.

Weitas Creek's spring bear hunts will be operated out of the Weitas Guard Station camp. Most of the bear will be taken over baits; however, we do have some opportunity for the spot-and-stalk method of harvest. Bear populations are good and normally every hunter will have an opportunity to harvest a nice bear. 40% of bear in the Bitterroots will be of the brown color phase, ranging from blonde to cinnamon to chocolate. A minimum of two hunters per hunt is required for each of our bear hunts offered. A maximum of four hunters will be accepted per hunt. Each hunt will be operated on a two-hunter per guide basis.

Our fall Utah bear hunting season opens August 30th in Idaho and we are lucky enough to outfit in an area that allows for 2 bears and at a reduced Utah nonresident price. Our fall bear hunt usually takes place at our higher camp that we can drive into and much like the spring bear hunt, you can sleep in and rest or get up early and be on a bear bait before daylight.

We are a Idaho Outfitter in the west central mountains in units 25 and 20 A. We offer 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 spot and stalk bear hunts on horse back in mid April and the first part of may then do hunts over baits. We like to do groups of 2 to 4 for the bait hunts as we have 4 different bait sites. We take our hunts out of Yellow Pine Idaho where lodging and meals are provided
